There is a great deal of help available to businesses in Wales who are prepared to trade internationally.
Wales Trade International 
An excellent starting point, with advisors in different parts of Wales. They offer free workplace visits, advice, seminars & market information. Find details here of its programme of overseas trade missions and trade fairs for 2002-03.
International Trade Fund
WalesTrade International offer grants to help small and medium sized companies to develop business overseas through the recently launched International Trade Fund. The Fund provides up to 50% towards the implementation cost of an export marketing activity, up to a maximum grant of £4000 in any 12-month period. Examples of eligibility include export marketing research and consultancy, overseas travel and initial business visits, and overseas promotional activities.
The Export Association
Based in Wales, The Export Association offers practical support to the exporter, working alongside companies to help develop their overseas trade. They are able to provide a start-up pack & some very useful publications.
