Mobile computer connections fuel global enterprise

The global enterprise market was worth $103 billion (£51.7 billion) in 2007 and will grow by 11 percent over the next five years, according to Ovum.

The market analyst estimates that there were a total of 76.5 million enterprise wireless connections and 16 million mobile computer connections worldwide last year.

It noted that enterprise mobility market growth was stronger than had previously been expected, particularly in mobile computer connections, where a compound annual growth rate of 30 percent is expected as demand remains high over the next five years.

Ovum added that growth in wireless enterprise connections had remained steady; explaining that there voice ARPU (average revenue per user) would continue to grow at around 4 percent through to 2012.

According to manufacturing company Swenc Technology, the worldwide market for mobile device touch screens is rapidly rising, propelled by growing enterprise demand for mobile internet devices and ultra-mobile PCs.
