Expert: Businesses must ensure websites are upgraded
A technology expert has urged business owners in Wales and the rest of the UK to ensure that their websites reflect any changes in their requirements.
The head of operations at Technology Means Business said that companies should "be mindful" that the
capabilities of their website may need to be updated as a firm develops.
Dr Adam Le Gresley said that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) need to be aware that if they have set up a site "using a small amount of space on a hosting provider's server",
they may have to upgrade their package later on as their "business requirements change".
He cited the example that unlike with a smaller site that takes up less space, a technical support adviser may be necessary to help run a "large complicated website which sees a lot of traffic".
The UK has the most active online population in Europe, with the highest average number of daily visitors (21.8 million) the highest usage days per month (21 per user), and the highest average time spent
per month per user (34.4 hours) according to figures from ComScore's World Metrix study.
