Delivery from a Service Science KTC

Wednesday 21st July 2010
6.30 - 8.30pm (Doors open 6pm)

Robert Recorde Room, Department of Computer Science, Faraday Building, Swansea University

Guest Speaker: Chris Tofts, visiting Professor of Service Science and Technical lead of concinnitas Ltd

To address the gap in high value service activities, reflected in the Welsh Gross Value Added (GVA), a Service Science Initiative in collaboration with IT Wales and the Department of Computer Science at the Univeristy of Swansea has been established (for further details www.cs.swansea.ac.uk/SSI).

We are creating a Knowledge Transfer Centre (KTC) to promote collaborative working between manufacturing, service, government and third sector organisations. This area can only be understood by working directly with these entities.

We have developed and distributed an online questionnaire on the need for the KTC and will present the results of this study to the organisations representative of the groups above and initiate a live discussion on the approach we should take to the development of the KTC which will add the most value. This is an opportunity to review the range of responses received and develop the foci of the KTC.
