Web Accessibility - What every business needs to know.
Tuesday 23rd May
6pm - 8pm (Doors open 5.30pm)
Technium CAST,
Parc Menai, Bangor
The Disabilities Discrimination Act requires all websites to be accessible to users with disabilities. It is law.
As the World Wide Web grows in both size and popularity accessibility becomes an increasingly important issue. People with disabilities can find it difficult or even impossible to access, navigate, or
read the content of a web page if the information isn't presented correctly.
Guest speakers Grant Broome and Debbie Marshall of CDSM Interactive solutions Ltd, will guide you through the process of ensuring your website can be accessed by all and highlight some of the simple
techniques that can overcome the potential barriers between you and your disabled customer.
Grant is the Web Accessibility Manager for CDSM Interactive solutions Ltd. He has been heading up CDSM's web accessibility services for the past 3 years and for the past 2 years has been
developing the Shaw Trust Web Accreditation service in partnership with the Shaw Trust. Grant is also on the board of administrators for the International Guild of Accessible Web Designers (GAWDS)
and has published what has been dubbed the definitive article on automated accessibility testing.
Debbie is a Project Manager with CDSM and was responsible for the management and delivery of one of the company's most successful and accessible applications to date.
Following the presentation there will be a buffet and networking opportunity
