"Going Flexible"
A look at Agile Methods and Extreme Programming (XP)
Tuesday 2nd May
6pm until 8pm (Doors open 5.30pm for light refrehments)
Technium CAST (Centre for Advanced Software Technology)
Park Menai, Bangor
A presentation by Dr Robert Gittins, ITWales, School of Informatics, UWB
There is a growing need, and in some sectors demand, amongst software developers for more flexible methodologies. Some developers continue to use ad hoc software development methods whilst
others struggle through heavily document (plan-driven) methods.
This presentation and discussion is relevant to developers, whether working alone or in teams. It offers an introduction to flexible methodologies, demonstrating how one 'Agile' methodology - 'Extreme
Programming (XP)', can be introduced or even replace existing software development practices to reconcile problems.
Audience participation will be welcomed throughout the presentation - especially from anyone with real and repetitive software development problems to solve!
During the evening there will be time for some valuable networking so don't forget to bring literature and business cards.
This event forms part of the ITWales Software Developers programme and is FREE to attend, however advance booking is required.
