Swansea software house shortlisted for three national awards
by Sali Earls
Swansea based CGram Software have announced their success at being shortlisted as finalists for three of the UKs most prestigious accounting and technology awards.
The awards and categories are:
- Best Mid Range Software Package - Accountancy Age
- Best Business Software Supplier 2005 - Computing
- Best Business Provider Solution - Linux User & Developer
CGrams Managing Director, Paul Davies said, "We are absolutely delighted to have been short-listed for these these prestigious awards. It shows how far weve come as a company during the last couple of years and it also clearly shows that there is a big change occurring in the market for Accounting and Business Software."
"Only a few years ago we would have had little chance of gaining recognition amongst the big name, big game players like Sage, SAP and Oracle , but now we hear customers and the trade press say things along the lines of if youre good enough, well then youre big enough. This encourages us and other smaller companies in the area to keep on pushing, to keep developing innovative products and it also gives us a tremendous feeling of belief and satisfaction," continues Davies. "Were also very flattered , but at the same time I can honestly say the team we have at CGram has worked very, very hard for its customers - and they deserve all the credit they get. We might not win one of these this time round, but well keep working at it, and maybe who knows? Well keep aiming high - we think it would be good for Wales to have its own version of a Sage!"
With the Linux User & Developer award being announced on 5 October, and the others in November, the team at CGram do not have long to wait. However, win or lose, achieving finalist position in a national awards proves that this Swansea software house is going places.
