Andrew Davies
Minister for Economic Development and Transport.


A former Chair of Swansea West Labour Party and member of the Welsh Labour Executive Committee, he was a regional party official from 1984- 1991.

Born in 1952, he is a graduate of Swansea University and a trained counsellor and lectured extensively in adult, further and continuing education.

He has also worked in the private, voluntary and public sectors,including working for the Ford Motor Company on the innovative EDAP programme. He was the Associate Director of a public affairs company before his election as an Assembly Member.

Professor Aldwyn Cooper
Pro Vice-Chancellor (Operations), University of Glamorgan

Professor Cooper took up his current position in January 2000. He previously worked as a consultant advising public and private sector organisations on strategies for introducing effective e-commerce and electronic communications systems.

Before Glamorgan, he was Managing Director of Workhouse Limited, an independent television, media production and corporate communications company.

He is responsible for Information Systems and E-Learning Services, the Learning Resources Centre, Marketing and Student Recruitment and Personnel.

Richard Walker
IT & E-Government Policy Manager, Gwynedd Council


Richard has worked for Gwynedd Council since 1996, with responsibility for IT Policy and Performance, including developing the authority's E-Government agenda, web site, and all ICT policy matters.

With a firm belief that the Information Society will be a cornerstone of the regeneration of Wales, and delivery of better public services, he has taken an active role in providing ICT advice and guidance to various local and regional stakeholders/projects. This has included participation in various ICT related European funded projects, and is currently a member of the Objective 1 Thematic Advisory Group for ICT.

Paul Taylor
General Manager, Field Service Broadband, BT

Paul is currently responsible for the Customer Service engineering activity for the broadband teams for the UK and is heavily involved in the drive to improve customer satisfaction and develop new revenue streams for this product.

Previous roles include a wide spectrum of Operational activity including running the engineering operation for the South of the UK, UK Payphone Operations, establishing a business in Holland and working in the US with MCI.

As a Welshman with a young family living in Swansea, he is keen to play a part to ensure that those living and working in Wales are able to exploit the opportunities provided by our industry.
